about
ORD-LHR is a piece for steel guitar. Written and recorded at home earlier this month.
The video was shot on a rainy night at O'Hare Field in Chicago, November 2018. Taxiing to the the runway for a flight to London and the start of a European tour.
This song and film are offered as a tribute to the freedom of movement. Feeling the beauty and value of this movement is maybe a small gift in the midst of so much loss.
I can't think of a better soundtrack to listen to loudly while I half-ass cook breakfast (but mainly space out to Loscil) and sleepily watch squirrels make niveous paths scampering in the argent snow in my backyard brantly
From the always-excellent label Past Inside the Present comes this stunning work of sustained tone and timbre. Gorgeous. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 1, 2022
Great album, which gets back to Monument Builders, as for sound (especially "Nox") and as for beauty. In "Blue", there are echos of Vangelis and of the recents sounds of Mogwai, who, IMHO, got inspired by loscil, as for the use of synth in a 1980s style. A slight reminiscence of M83 in "Century".
